By purchasing our tempered glass protectors, you will support the development of bee communities, the construction of new hives and also important education about it. In cooperation with Czech and Slovak beekeepers, we donate a part of the proceeds from each product to help bees, the number of which, unfortunately, is rapidly declining. Bees are among the most valuable creatures on the planet and are important for preserving the food chain of humans and animals and for maintaining biodiversity in the wild. This is how the main idea of this support came about.
The honey bee has a very important position in the cycle of life. It is the most numerous and most important pollinator of all plants, and without it, up to 20,000 plant species that would have difficulty reproducing could become extinct in a short time. Without bees, it could disrupt the food chain and the ecosystem, as well as biodiversity, which could jeopardize human existence. Most fruits, vegetables and nuts, including tomatoes, sunflowers, cucumbers, cashews, onions, cabbage, almonds, citrus fruits and berries are pollinated by bees. Yields of coffee, soybeans and cotton are directly dependent on them.
In the world of all animals, the bee is one of the rare exceptions that will not damage any plant or kill any other creature for its livelihood during its lifetime. The birth of a new seed from which the plant germinates depends on it. The spawning of agricultural crops and fruit trees means billions of euros a year of economic benefits worldwide. Bee products such as honey, wax, propolis, royal jelly have an important position in medicine, pharmacy and cosmetics. An important argument for protecting bees more than other pollinators is that up to 80% of pollinating plants can only be pollinated by bees. It is interesting that they also serve as bioindicators of environmental quality, as they are extremely sensitive to harmful substances. For this reason, they are used, for example, in identifying places with metals such as manganese, copper or lead.
